As an artist who paints in oil, I am drawn to
explore the beauty of nature in both realistic still
lifes and in impressionistic landscapes painted
in colorist tradition. From the beginning to
completion, each painting becomes a
contemplative quest in my creative process.

Still life works, inspired by 17th Century Dutch
Masters involve making elaborate drawings of
an arranged composition followed by a number
of delicate glazes on primed Belgian linen.
Inspired by French Impressionists, plein air
painting allows me to step directly into
landscapes influenced by colorist tradition of
Northern California.

Ever evolving, these realistic still lifes and
colorist landscapes may merge into a single
unique style. When in my studio, brush in hand,
facing a pristine white canvas, I find joy in
exploring the possibility of creating a new and
distinctive dimension in each of my paintings.
